It may not be the start of a new year, but there is always time to make a resolution to get healthy and fit! Let Durham Parks and Recreation help accomplish those fitness goals! We have a variety of fitness facilities, drop-in fitness classes and a monthly Wellness Package for the community to enjoy.

Are you looking for cardio and strength equipment to use? Stop by one of these recreation centers for access to fitness equipment to complete a quick workout! From treadmills and elliptical trainers to dumbbells and stability balls, we’ve got your workout needs covered. Each recreation center offers their own unique equipment - please keep in mind they may be different from center to center.

Looking for a drop-in fitness class this week? We offer a variety of classes for folks who are 18 years old and up (unless otherwise noted), ranging in fitness focus and time requirements. Some of our offerings include African Cardio Blast, Complete Core, Line Dance, Spin, Tai Chi Heavy Ball, Yoga and Zumba. To view the drop-in schedule, visit our Active NET site and search by class name. Please note that classes are subject to change. Feel free to call the Recreation Center before attending. If you plan on visiting our Recreation Centers on a regular basis, you might want to look into purchasing a monthly wellness pass. Each pass includes unlimited land-based group fitness and mind/body classes, use of weights and fitness equipment, open gym, drop-in pickleball, and use of the gymnasium when available. The cost of a wellness pass for city residents is $20 per month with the purchase of a Play More Card and $25 per month for non-city residents with the purchase of a Play More Card. Please note there could be additional fees applied for the use of aquatics facilities and participation in some other classes, activities and sports teams.
