Participate in the 2019 Durham Senior Games

Excitement and anticipation is growing among Durham’s Mature Adults for the 2019 Durham Senior Games & SilverArts. Persons 50 years and better have the opportunity to participate in sports, arts and social activities as well as meeting new friends and renewing old friendships. This program is sanctioned by North Carolina Senior Games, Inc. (NCSG) and is sponsored statewide by the North Carolina Division of Aging.
Early Bird Registration Fees February 4 – March 1:
Registration must be completed by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 22 and registration forms will be available beginning February 4 at the Durham Parks and Recreation Headquarters (400 Cleveland Street) or at any Durham Parks and Recreation neighborhood center. Interested individuals may call (919) 560-4355 to find the location nearest them.

This annual event, which begins Monday, April 15, provides Mature Adults the opportunity to compete in a host of athletic and artistic activities in various locations around Durham. More than thirty sporting events and twenty art forms are available. Athletic events in Durham Senior Games include: basketball, track and field, bowling, swimming, cornhole, cycling, golf, horseshoes, badminton, billiards, table tennis, shuffleboard, croquet, pickleball, and bocce.
For those wishing to showcase their artistic endeavors, the Silver Arts program encourages Mature Adults to submit their work in visual arts which includes: oil, acrylics, watercolor, drawing, pastels, sculpture, mixed media and photography. Heritage Arts pieces such as: quilting, needlework, knitting, crocheting, basket weaving, hooked rugs, pottery, jewelry making and woodcarving are also invited. Finally, writers of all genres such as: poetry, short stories, essays, and life experience may also submit their work.

Registration Details
Early-bird registration will open for the Durham Senior Games and Silver Arts programs on Monday February 4, 2019. Early-bird registration allows participants to save $2.00 off the registration fee and will end on March 1, 2019. From March 2 until 5:00 p.m. March 22, regular registration rates will apply.Early Bird Registration Fees February 4 – March 1:
- $10.80 City Resident with a PlayMore card
- $12.00 City Resident, without a PlayMore card
- $15.30 Non - City Resident with a PlayMore card
- $17.00 Non-City resident without a PlayMore card
- $12.60 City Resident with a PlayMore card
- $14.00 City Resident, without a PlayMore card
- $17.10 Non - City Resident wth a PlayMore card
- $19.00 Non-City resident without a PlayMore card
