Go Green at the 2019 Earth Day Festival

Who's ready to Go Green and celebrate our planet!? Folks of all ages are invited to join us for the 2019 Earth Day Festival on Sunday, April 28 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Durham Central Park. Enjoy a day filled with an eclectic mix of music, food, hands-on environmental education activities and much more!

You'll want to plan out your day accordingly because we have more than enough activities and programs for you to enjoy! Festival goers will be able to explore local goods, crafts and resources at the Earth Day Market. And the kids are sure to have a blast climbing the Rock Wall, hanging out in the Family Fun Zone and receiving a free book at the Book Giveaway through Durham County Library. If you get hungry or need a drink, make sure to bring a refillable water bottle to fill at the Durham H20 2 Go Hydration Station and check out the local food trucks for a bit to eat. There will also be an opportunity to learn about how to 'be green' through transportation efforts as well the Zero-Waste Project, sponsored by Keep Durham Beautiful and Compost Now. To top it all of, we want to help you get rid of your piles of documents laying around the house. Bring them down to the corner of Foster and Hunt Streets where Shred Ace will greet you with free document shredding from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. If you want to read more about any of these activities, visit our website.

On the right is a quick glance at the Earth Day Performance Lineup. From Breaking Even to Shay M. Lovette, you are sure to hear some great jams. We're also excited to welcome Bill Reh, weather forecaster for CBS North Carolina, as our emcee for the event from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Please note, this schedule is subject to change at any time. For the most updated performance schedule and artist lineup, make sure to visit our website.

A huge shout out to our sponsor, Pulse FM, for their support in making this event possible! If you have any questions or want more event information, email Kevin Jones or call 919-560-4355.
