Just Released: The Fall 2019 Play More Guide

Summer is coming to an end but with Fall right around the corner, we are excited to announce the official release of our September - December 2019 Play More Guide! We've got 63 pages of fun, interactive and educational programs and activities for all ages, intensity levels and interests. Whether you go on a History Hike at West Point on the Eno or sign up for the Hip Hop and Paint class at Holton Career and Resource Center, there is something for everyone!

Registration officially opens up on Thursday, August 1, 2019. If you have an activity in your wish list, such as swim lessons for your kids or Zumba fitness classes for you, make sure to mark your calendar for registration day because activity spots fill up very fast!

How do I register for a program?

We want to make sure you're ready to go on August 1! We have an online registration portal, called Active Net, that allows participants to register for most programs in the comfort of their own home. You can search for your favorite programs by keyword, age, day, time, location and more! Best of all, there are no registration fees...so whether you sign up in person at your local recreation center or online, the fees (if any) are all the same.

For full step-by-step instructions on how to create an Active Net account and begin registering for programs, visit our website. We would encourage making sure your account is setup prior to when registration opens on August 1.

What is the Play More Guide?

Play More is a guide to creative and challenging recreation choices in Durham and is produced by Durham Parks and Recreation (DPR). Three editions are published throughout the year - June-August, September-December, and January-May. Each guide consists of upcoming activities for all ages to enjoy, including both registered and drop-in activities.

Inside each Play More Guide you will find detailed information on our Play More card, pass sale chart, facility addresses and hours of operation, trails and greenways, rentals, and more.

The Play More Guide is available online. Prefer a printed copy? Pick one up at any of our recreation centers or the administration office. They can also be found at most local grocery stores in Durham. You can also browse our many offerings with our online registration site. Search by keyword, date, time, location, ages and more!
