Suit Up for Spring Time Sports

Did you know that Durham Parks and Recreation offers a wide variety of sports for all ages throughout the year? From volleyball to soccer, flag football to basketball, there are plenty of opportunities for you to Play More with DPR.

Registration is opening very soon (if not already) for several of our youth and adult spring leagues. Grab your friends, create a team or sign up as an individual! Please note: Not all sports are offered for both adult and youth.

Let's take a closer look at some athletics leagues are taking place during the upcoming 2020 Spring season...

Bitty Baseball is a six week program offered to boys and girls ages 4-6 years old looking to learn the fundamentals of baseball. Games are held on Saturdays for one hour, between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. at C.M. Durham Girls Soccer League (DGSL) is set to kick off for girls ages 6-13 years old in both the Spring and Fall 2020 seasons. Games are held on Saturdays with a one-hour practice per week. They'll learn the basics of soccer all while having fun and meeting new friends! For more information on fees, code of conduct and registration, visit our website.

Kickball is offered as a Co-Rec adult league, open for ages 17 and older, during the Fall, Spring and Summer. Games are held at C.M. Herndon Park on Thursday evenings starting at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Teams will also compete in an end of the season single elimination tournament. Soccer is open to adult women in both the Fall and Spring with two league options,one for ages 17+ and another for 30+. Games are held Monday through Thursday, depending on the league, and take place at Old Chapel Hill Road Park. For more information on fees, code of conduct and registration, visit our website.


Volleyball is set to spike this Spring season with a Co-Rec league open to participants 17 years and older. This self officiated league will tentatively begin on March 10 with games taking place at Walltown Park Recreation Center and Edison Johnson Recreation Center. Softball takes place throughout the week for adults ages 17 and up, in both a Men's Division and Co-Rec Division. Plenty of opportunities for you to grab some friends or coworkers to create a team! For more information on fees, code of conduct and registration, visit our website.
