Celebrate History, Culture & the Arts: Bimbé Celebration

The 2021 Bimbé Celebration registration is currently full with a waiting list.

It’s time for a Bimbé Celebration! For those that have registered for the event, join us on Saturday, May 15 at Durham County Memorial Stadium Parking Lot, located at 750 Stadium Drive. Enjoy this rain or shine, family-oriented event, celebrating African and African American history, culture, arts, and traditions. This event require pre registration and spots are limited! This event will consist of some of the highlights of our usual Bimbé Festival including great music, speakers, and tasty food! Enjoy concerts and speakers from the comfort of your vehicle or bring your own chairs and sit directly in front of your vehicle in the marked space provided. The following food trucks will be available so be sure to bring your appetite or feel free to pack your own picnic:

  • Levy's Jerkstand
  • Magnificent Concessions
We will also be collecting school supplies for those in need in our community. If you are able, please bring an item from each person in your car. Supplies will be collected at check-in. This is not required but we hope to collect a bounty of supplies to share with those in need. Any school supplies will be accepted but the following items are the most needed: 
  • Spiral Notebooks
  • Pencils
  • Crayons
  • Colored pencils
