This December, Durham Parks and Recreation will host a series of festive and fun Holiday events. Whether you want to visit Santa with your canine pal, cozy up and catch a movie, dance and dine the night away, or watch festive floats in the Durham Holiday Parade, we’ve got something for everyone!


Holiday Card Creations

Cards are a traditional way to spread joy during the holidays. We will provide the materials for you to make holiday cards for your friends and family.

Santa Paws

Join us for an evening of holiday fun with your canine friends. You and your pooch pal can take photos with Santa, participate in the canine ugly sweater contest, shop at the Holiday “Pup-Up” Market, and donate items in the canine food and toy drive.

Bull City Reels on Wheels
We’re bringing free movies to the big screen this holiday season! Watch from the comfort of your vehicle or bring your own chairs and sit in front of your vehicle. Registered participants can also ride bikes, ride public transportation, or walk to the event.

50th Annual Senior Holiday Party (Age 55 or better)

The Senior Holiday Party is one of Durham's largest celebrations for Mature Adults (ages 55 or better). Mature Adults from across the Triangle will enjoy an evening of fellowship, dinner, and dancing at the Senior Holiday Party.

Snowball Splash
Shake off the winter chills and warm up in the pool! At this fun family event, children will get to play in the shallow water with winter toys, play winter-themed games in the pool, and make winter-themed arts and crafts projects on the pool deck. Lifejackets will be provided as needed. An adult must enter the water with children 5 years of age and younger. An adult must be on the pool deck for all children ages 6-13.
